Addition Project in Hinsdale IL

The customers’ home was an older home in downtown Hinsdale IL.  Their lot was large enough to accommodate a single story addition on the rear of the house to enlarge the existing kitchen.  It was very important to the homeowners that the addition blended in with their existing home.

The addition was built upon a full concrete foundation.  This provided extra space in the basement for storage or a finished entertaining area at a later time.

The exterior of the house was painted cedar siding.  The existing house needed repainting so the entire house and new addition were painted the same color. We added several new windows in the new part of the kitchen as well as French doors that led out into the beautifully landscaped backyard.

We installed maple hardwood flooring in the new addition.  We laced it into the existing maple hardwood floor in the existing kitchen area.  We refinished the existing and new maple floors so they looked like they had been installed at the same time.

We updated the existing kitchen by installing new painted cabinets and trim.  We also installed a granite countertop and decorative tile backsplash.  The addition and kitchen remodel was completed with the installation of new stainless steel appliances.
